enercast, leading technology provider for applied artificial intelligence, has divested its mining business into an independent corporation. An agreement with K+S Aktiengesellschaft enables enercast to thus strengthen investments in its core business, the digital transformation of renewable energy, and to accelerate the expansion in overseas markets.

The newly created company, Castalytics GmbH, will be headed by Bernd Kratz who has consequently relinquished his role as one of the managing directors of enercast GmbH.

Thorsten Boeckers, member of the executive board and chief financial officer of K+S Aktiengesellschaft, comments: “The digital transformation of our business processes is one of the keys for implementing our group strategy Shaping 2030. Going forward, Dr. Henning Schulze-Lauen will lead enercast as the sole managing director and chief executive officer. Says Schulze-Lauen: “The success of our new integration platform for power forecasts and other digital services has encouraged us to focus entirely on our customers in the renewable energy business and to expand our understanding of their business processes.  Spinning off the highly specialized mining know-how also furthers the product strategy we adopted last year, and which is centered on a scalable and fast-growing software-as-a-service business.”
