New premises are waiting for the employees of enercast GmbH, one of the leading providers of power forecasts for renewable energy. The company is among the first tenants to be commencing their work at the newly built science park on 1st April.

From Kassel’s Vorderer Westen district into the heart of the city – enercast is not basing this step merely on the strong growth it has experienced since its founding in 2011 by Thomas Landgraf and Bernd Kratz. The complex mathematical projections and forecasts for wind and solar energy demand precise scientific work from its employees on a daily basis.  These intellectual tasks will be given more room to flourish.  As an interface between science and business located on the University of Kassel’s Campus Nord, the Science Park will do precisely this.  Dr. Oliver Fromm, Director of Science Park Kassel GmbH said the following: “With the Science Park, we offer companies, students and scientists a space which encourages concentrated work, creative exchange and the creation of synergy effects so that visions can be successfully realised.”

In addition to conference and meeting rooms, space for freelancers, students and project groups can also be booked.  Anyone looking for inspiration outside of the everyday office space has the opportunity to explore the Science Park’s IdeaLab. Whether alone or in a team – the large, flexible space offers the user everything required to break free of familiar thinking patterns and to arrive at new solution approaches and ideas.

In order to fulfil enercast’s demanding technical requirements, Netcom will be responsible for their implementation. Frank Richter, Director of Netcom Kassel explains: “enercast receives the IT infrastructure it requires from us to efficiently transport and process the required data volumes and to model complex calculations.  With the help of strong, high-performance infrastructure, which can keep up with growing needs, enercast will continue to be able to offer its customers the high quality forecasting to which they have grown accustomed.”
